Wellbeing is about more than Mental Health, including physical, financial and social wellbeing. Looking after nature and the environment is an important part of everyone’s wellbeing as well, something that our education teams are continually discussing with our customers, especially with groups visiting through the Generation Green 2 project. It is important however to remember to look after our own wellbeing as well, especially as the seasons change and the weather gets more inclement. Sometimes we need additional motivation to get outdoors. Whether you work in an “office” or an outdoor classroom, it is important to enjoy and engage with nature for yourself, not just through work. Finding an activity to do outdoors away from your day-to-day can help you disengage and relax.

The Action for Happiness Calendar team have developed a new way for people to engage – you can sign up to the Optimistic October Challenge – a daily reminder in your inbox, inviting you to think about one small way to get involved. You can also download the app as well as displaying the calendar on noticeboards or setting it as your desktop background. By thinking about one small constructive thing every day our thoughts can stay positive.
