FSC Rhyd-y-creuau are running the below Mountain Training courses in 2019. These are available to all staff so if you meet the pre-course criteria you could sign up for these courses at half price even if not needed for your role with the FSC – a great way to spend your annual leave and get some top-quality training that could change your life! (See www.mountain-training.org for details of courses and the pre-course criteria.) If you have family members who want to attend it would be full price but if there are places free there may be some last-minute deals available – they would just need to be signed up to the lastminutedeals list. Minimum age is 18 for all the courses.
Hill and Moorland Leader Training – 9th – 11th April
FSC staff price £165. Full price = £330 – Maximum 6
Candidates will need to be registered with the Mountain Training and have the appropriate number of logged walks.
Rock Climbing Instructor Training – 8th – 10th April
FSC staff price £185. Full price = £370 – Maximum 4
Candidates will need to be registered with Mountain Training and have the appropriate pre-course experience.
Mountain Leader (Summer) Training – 20th – 25th May
FSC staff price £275. Full price = £550 – Maximum 6
Candidates will need to be register with Mountain Training and have the appropriate number of logged Quality Mountain Days.
Hill and Moorland Leader Assessment – 3rd June – 5th June
FSC staff price £165. Full price = £330 – Maximum 6
Candidates must have attended a Hill and Moorland Leader training course (or applied for exception) and have the appropriate number of logged walks.
