This week a Head Office monthly staff meeting and short East group Education training session focused on the Nature Friendly Schools (NFS) project giving those in attendance the opportunity to take part in a short outdoor session, focused on positive wellbeing outcomes.

The wildflower garden that the West SusCo team created at FSC Start Bay Centre has now fully taken shape. The first flowers have fully burst into life and it is an exciting mix of what was there before, and the seeded annuals provided by the Grow Wild team at Kew Gardens.

The British Ecological Society are running their annual 16-18 Summer School this week at FSC Malham Tarn – As part of the week they will be producing a live broadcast every evening, starting this evening at 6:45.

Staff from FSC Epping Forest and FSC London took part in City Nature Challenge last weekend.

This morning, staff at Head Office opened up the Moth Trap which was put out the evening previous to see what moths they could find. All together, 51 moths were counted belonging to 8 different species which were identified by Charlie Bell, our BioLinks Project Officer.

FSC Publications have launched a new fold-out chart, ‘Guide to ducks, geese and swans’. From mallard to mute swan, from shoveler to smew, the FSC Ducks, Geese and Swans Identification Chart features all 32 of the wild waterfowl that you are likely to see.
