The front of FSC Kindrogan.

As many of you know FSC Kindrogan has faced a great deal of change in 2019. Since partially closing on January 18th the Centre has seen some of its staff move to other positions, some relocating to other Northern Centres and unfortunately some redundancies.

However, with this change, new opportunities have arisen and Katie Rudge, a previous Tutor at FSC Kindrogan, is now employed as an Outreach Officer for one year. The aim of this role is to develop secondary and primary school outreach programmes for the FSC in Scotland, build on current partnerships, develop new partnerships, and maintain links with the local community during the partial closure.

FSC Kindrogan will now be welcoming some courses on a non-residential basis and day visits for schools during 2019.

“My new role is quite varied, and Scotland is vast, but I am simultaneously humbled and excited to be maintaining the spirit of the FSC, promoting environmental education, and continuing to enjoy such a special place.”

Katie Rudge, Outreach Officer

“Staff have been engaged in the consultation process and were extremely professional in in their response to what has been a difficult and challenging period and so I would like to give them my thanks.”

Tim Foster, Head of Group (North)

Going forwards there will be a report to the Board in July to make further decisions based on evidence gathered from external consultants to ascertain direction for FSC Kindrogan in 2020.
